So my breaking was sometimes a bit spongy. I never had issues with the brake fluid coming out. It is difficult to bleed though, since you can't attach a cup without having hold it tight the whole time. Brake lever, shift buttons all work.
It is about a year old and shows some signs of wear on the hood leaver from normal use. The top bleed port has stripped threading. I've seen these threads be repaired though. Not on the nut, but actual port as part of unit.
Removed from a Canyon Ultimate. Come with box and instructions from my replacement part. I would help secure it with a bit of plumbers tape on the bolt. Circled in the second picture.
Used ST-R8170 Shimano Ultegra Shiftier/Brake Lever. Battery still is near 100%. It will still hold fluid and i've used it for about a year like this.
