Bearings are smooth. Hub is about two years old and was taken off when I had to have my wheel set rebuilt with a different sized for new bike. Dt Swiss 240 lefty hub. A number of spoke holes have paint worn away from the spokes and show some deformity primarily where wrapped, opposite flange side.
