Other than the reservoir touches frame when shock really gets compressed. Just a cosmetic scratch. So yeah, the shock is used, but only for one ride. I purchased this shock for my Trek Rail.

The shock works really well. I can usually get back to you within 24 hours. Fit perfectly. I only used this shock for one 10 mile ride and bought it brand new.
